contexto-game.io is a companion site for Contexto, the daily word game that ranks your guesses by meaning. It exists because the game itself is deliberately minimal — it gives you a number and nothing else — and a lot of players want the part it leaves out: what the number is, why a word landed where it did, and what to try next.
What this site is
We publish four things: a daily answer page with progressive hints, an archive with a page for every past puzzle, guides to how the game works and how to play it better, and a comparison of the other daily games in the same family.
Two things this site is not, stated plainly:
- We are not the official Contexto. Contexto was created by Nildo Junior, a Brazilian developer based in Norway, and launched in 2022. We are not affiliated with him, and this site is not endorsed by him. The game board on this site is embedded; the game itself remains his.
- We are not a scraper. Every page here is written. The hints, the commentary on how a day played and the guides are original work, not generated summaries of someone else’s page.
Who makes it
The site is published by Ouaz Games, an independent studio that builds and runs browser games. The people writing the daily pages play the puzzle every day in at least two languages — the Portuguese and Spanish editions are written by people who play those editions, not translated out of the English one, because the answers are genuinely different words and a translated page would be describing a puzzle nobody played.
That is also why the Portuguese and Spanish sections are smaller than the English one. We would rather ship eight pages a market actually needs, written by someone who plays there, than mirror thirty pages of translated filler.
How the daily pages are produced
Each day, for each language:
- The puzzle is played to completion by hand, and the guess count is recorded.
- The closest words and their ranks are read from the finished board — these are observed values, not estimates.
- Three hints are written, ordered from barely-useful to nearly-conclusive, and checked so that none of them names the answer or a top-three word.
- Two sentences of commentary are written about what actually made the day easy or hard, based on where guesses went.
- The page is published, and its
dateModifiedis set from that day’s data file.
A page that is missing its closest-word table or its commentary is automatically published with a noindex tag rather than going live thin. That rule is enforced at build time, not by memory.
We do not publish an answer before the puzzle is live in that language, and answers are always kept behind a spoiler blur on the daily page so that landing on it by accident does not ruin your round.
Corrections and contact
Ranks are read from a live board and occasionally get mistyped. If you spot a wrong rank, a hint that gives too much away, or a factual error in one of the guides, tell us and we will fix it and note the change on the page. Corrections are made to the page itself rather than quietly dropped.
Our privacy policy covers what data the site collects, which in v1 is almost none, and the terms cover the rest.
